> My Blogging Mission

I keep a lot of fun and interesting ideas up in my brain. Well... maybe they're not that interesting... well. Maybe I shouldn't share them... You can imagine that I might not be ready to tell you what's in here. But hey, screw it. I'm going to start writing it down.

My diary starts here. I'm going to try publishing, at least once every week, what's going on in my brain. The objective is to simply put it down, but also to build a website for me. Yeah, it's a bit selfish. Hopefully you end up appreciating the same things as I. And if that's the case, you should DM me! If you don't know what that means, that's fine, we can still be friends.

Part of me is wondering if I should make this slightly AI-generated. If I do, that's not really what's happening in my brain. So if a post is AI-generated, AI-assisted, AI-edited, or AI-perverted, I'll be sure to let you know -- So you don't think I'm a sicko that let's AI run my brain...

> The Birth of FORTRAN and "the Programmer"

In honor of my Dad's birthday, and in order to memorize my father's year of birth I've been looking for an impactive event in history that I can tie it to. It turns out that 1957 is the commercialized birth year of FORTRAN, the first high-level programming language.

This is also the year that "the programmer" was first defined as a profession. Before this, programming was done in machine code or assembly language, which were much more difficult and time-consuming.
